Classic Muskoka in Craft Beer

Now a brewery and resort, Clear Lake Brewing Company was started by Mitch Kacsmar and Greg Knight in February 2017. Located between Gravenhurst and Bala on beautiful Lake Muskoka the Brewery boasts an impressive lineup of five different beers and one Radler. My personal favourites are the Cran Radler which is the perfect afternoon dockside drink for those of you who enjoy Vodka Crans at night and the Cream Ale is a perfect pairing for a nice dinner on the patio with the slightest notes of honey. The rest of their lineup includes a Session Ale, an American IPA, a Pilsner, an Amber Ale and a Porter. Staying true to their Muskoka roots Clear Lake sources the cranberries for their Radler from Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh in Bala which ensures fresh flavour.

This session ale has a clear, golden-blonde body that is packed with streams of effervescence; one finger of frothy white foam gathers atop before dissipating within two minutes' time. The Ale is a nod to everything Muskoka from Bonfires to Barbeques this Beer hits the mark pouring a perfect thirst-quenching delight.

Brewed in the “American” tradition, the unfiltered Clear Lake IPA embraces a nice Munich-style balance of malt, with El Dorado hops giving the beer hints of mango and pineapple. On the nose, you can get a bit of watermelon or even candy scent.

Clear Lake Pilsner finishes crisp & dry, just as a traditional Pilsner should. There is not anything too special here. Hallertau which is one of Germany’s four original “noble” hops is used to create a light flowery and spicy aroma.

A red style ale with notes of caramel and hints of roasted grain makes this a perfect beer to kick back in the afternoon. Full-bodied taste and one of the more complex styles brewed at Clear Lake Brewing Co

Canada’s Second Beer Spa

Clear Lake is just putting the final touches on what is going to be Canada’s second beer spa and North America’s third. Opening Canada day 2020, the facility boasts a nine-acre oasis with hot and cold pools, saunas and steam rooms, waterfalls and whirlpools, and cabanas and cocktail bars. Here you can see how beer ingredients detoxify, stimulate metabolism, ease fatigue, and reduce stress. Additionally, you can take in the Muskoka nightlife with live entertainment and music or just sit back and relax with friends in your cabin.
